Potassium Iodide is an inorganic compound, its chemical formula KI. Used often to treat lung conditions or diseases in which mucus complicated the condition, such as emphysema, bronchitis, and bronchial asthma. SSKI is an expectorant and works by thinning mucous secretions in the lungs and making them less sticky. The mucus is then easier to cough up.
